It's the same old story
It's just like the story of Adam & Eve all over again. Satan decieved Eve into thinking there was some other authority other than God. Satan didn't claim to be that authority, but instead told Eve it was "knowledge." That having that knowledge would make them "like God" and therefore not subject to God's authority. Just like Satan, Government has convinced mankind that "civil authority" is the ultimate authority, and that God's authority is not needed, or at least, redundant. It's the same old story and man keeps falling for it. But you have a solution.
